CloudJumper
A New Vehicle, A New Era
Facing the storm, nosecone first.
Introducing UML Rocketry’s 2026 Flagship vehicle, CloudJumper.

CloudJumper is UML Rocketry’s first vehicle to include real-time weather conditions, VOC content, and visuals - All sent back to our in-house developed ground station live during flight.
Bigger, Higher, Faster, Safer
CloudJumper is UML Rocketry’s largest diameter rocket to date at 5.5 inches. With an expected apogee of over 5,600 feet and a maximum velocity of Mach 0.75, CloudJumper will be UML Rocketry’s highest and fastest flying vehicle ever.
Featuring UML Rocketry’s first ever single separation, dual deployment recovery scheme, always exploring new methods for ensuring safe, reliable vehicles that can land and be reflown, again and again.
Innovative Construction
Strong, Lightweight, Affordable
CloudJumper is a pathfinding vehicle for new advanced structural fabrication techniques. Hybrid construction using additive manufacturing and fiberglass shells allows for advanced geometries, such as nose cones and boat tails, to be made with accuracy and repeatability.
Utilizing a shared modular geometry for the boat tail and nose cone, CloudJumper can take advantage of reduced aft low pressure zones, resulting in lower drag. This shared design reduces complexity and engineering time.
Payload
Advanced Electronics, Familiar Form Factor
CloudJumper’s payload fits into a standard 2U CubeSat format, allowing for launch capabilities on alternate vehicles for additional testing. The electronics package uses socketed components wherever possible, allowing for easy component swaps in case of failures.
Powered by Raspberries and Raven
CloudJumper’s payload is powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, UML Rocketry’s first use of a single-board computer instead of a microcontroller for powering a payload. With LoRA radio on board, the payload is capable of transmitting weather and location data in real time to ground stations for recovery, with the capability to launch into unrecoverable weather conditions - without losing data. Blue Raven powers the payload deployment mechanism, a tested and dependable off the shelf flight computer with advanced capabilities.
